About Rider's Recommend
Rider's Recommend is a travel guide — where to stay, where to eat, which markets are worth the trip, and what to do once you are there. Each page tells you where a place is, what it is like to walk into, and when it is at its best. A destination goes up once there is enough to say about it properly.
What the badge means
A place marked “Tested by Rider’s Recommend” is one we visited and checked ourselves. Everything else on this site is researched, not personally visited — and we say so rather than blur the difference.
The badge sits on photographs, not on text, because a photograph is evidence and a sentence is a claim. If you see it on an image, that picture was taken by us at that place.
How places are described
A description does more work than a score. Telling you that a bar is loud, cheap and at its best after ten lets you decide whether that is your kind of evening. Two people can read the same page and reach opposite conclusions, and both of them are right.
